I did test drive it, but I don’t have a new car. Also test drove a 2016 6MT M3, that was actually really awesome. The rev matching on downshifts was strange. It almost made me want to give up mine. Then I did this on the way home, in a tunnel, with the windows down
How’s could I give up this thing?

And the sedan is an F80, not F30 like the 3 series?
BMW, was going with alphanumeric soup for your names not enough that you had to go and do the same to your chassis codes?

The 3 series is an F30, but the Ms are F80 for the M3 and F82 for the M4. You know, just cause they had to make it confusing.

Honestly, I test drove a 6MT M4 and a DCT M3 and hated the 6MT. This is coming from a manual purist mind you. I don’t think the powerband on the turbo cars is suited to the 6MT. It’s very On/Off with the boost, like an old school turbo car.

The DCT feels almost too automated to me. I liked it, but I didn’t have to have it. It almost felt like my car in the way you have to rev it out to get it to really move.

Which mode did you drive the manual in? The 6MT M3 I test-drove had very linear power delivery, but I only drove it in Sport Plus.

The only car in my opinion that can rival that for noise is the lfa.

The current m5 just doesn’t sound that great. Except on cold start
